Scrapbook Boutique November Blog Hop and Challenge

Welcome once again to Scrapbook Boutique's monthly challenge and blog hop.  You should have arrived here from Angela's amazing blog but if you didn't and want to start at the beginning, just click on the SBB blog link above and start again!  Today's challenge will be the last for this year, and fittingly, the inspiration board is very, very Christmasy!

Christmas is such a fun time of the year for most of us, especially the dressing of the tree, with brilliant baubles, tinsel and decorations in abundance.  So for my card I have chosen to make a bauble 'shaker' - this time the shaker is on top of the card, not concealed between the card and the card front, and if it was not adhered to the card, could actually be hung on the tree, as it is a separate element.

I have used the Kaisercraft stamp and die set called 'Merry Christmas' - stamping the tree and deer, spongeing the background and adding glitter, before the sequins and beads were enclosed.  The bauble ring was created with about 6 layers of die cut cardstock circles adhered on top of each other, before the acetate was sandwiched between these layers and the silver card topper.  This gave a good depth to allow the shaker elements to move freely.

Before adhering my bauble to the card front, I stamped some of the smaller images in the set around a pencilled circle, to create the suggestion of greenery/tree behind the bauble.  I added the die cut deer to the front - suggesting another decoration.

The contrasting red sentiment is also from this set.  A few more sequins and a silver bow complete this card.

Now to the housekeeping part - if you want to create something or just join in to win, there are two ways you can participate in this challenge and have a chance to win a prize.  You can comment on each blog, ending with the SBB blog, or you can create a project (either a card, scrapbook layout or off the page project) inspired by this photo.  Of course you can do both for a chance to win both prizes!  Please check out the rules of entry, and the prizes at the Scrapbook Boutique Blog and note that this challenge is open to Australian  and New Zealand residents.

I can't wait to see what you create for this challenge - each month the entries are just amazing and we love to see how everyone seems to take something unique from the mood board.

Now you should hop on over to Linda's fantastic blog!

Thanks for visiting and happy crafting!
