I Heart You

Image
Here is a 30th birthday card I recently made for my son-in-law's eldest daughter - she will be visiting for Christmas and has some exciting news to share with the family, in addition to turning 30!  We are very happy for her! I love using the heart shaped rosette for feminine cards - and the colours of white, pink and gold were requested by my daughter who ordered this card.  I'm very happy with it and hope Kyra loves it too.

Ballet girls

My card for today is one I've made as a request for a little dancer who is turning 4.  The three girls are dies, and there is an extra shape to create the skirts.  To coordinate the tops, I just coloured the  tops in a singlet shape to match.  I had a lot of fun creating this card and the buyer was very happy with it too!

Recent Birthdays

My first card is not for a specific birthday but I had a lot of fun colouring those cats! A 90th birthday for a member of our Book Club  - I've used the Cascade design - it deserves to be 'special' doesn't it? One for a grandson - turned 22 a couple of months ago, using Stampin' Up stamps. And if you can see the subtle 95 on the bottom right corner, you'll realise how special this card is!  I used some beautiful Christine Re paper and a design by Sam Clayton of Mixed Up Craft.  It's called an Arrow card and to make it display better, I add a stand to the back so it tilts back slightly and shows off the front better.  I've made quite a few of these this year, and they all look pretty special.

2019 Christmas cards

It's already near the end of the year, and I'm back again (Dame Nellie Melba??) with a few cards I've been making.  I'm not yet showing the more personal cards as they haven't been sent but these are the 'fun' cards I've enjoyed making. Using the stamps from Christmas Gleaming by Stampin' Up - paper from my stash. Some gnomes and dies A raccoon die I had fun putting together:} The hole in the wall is popular this year, and I used last year's Santa already stamped and coloured to place in that wall.

I'm back with an 80th birthday card

I won't know if anyone still remembers me or sees this post, but I'm hoping that I can reprise my blog now that I've found how to post again.  Almost a year ago, I was informed that my blog platform was no longer supported, and I believed that I could no longer post, but coming back in through blogger.com I am able to access it - as I am now.  This makes me very happy - as I didn't want to lose all those posts, which in a way, were like a personal diary - albeit only about card making! So for anyone visiting, here is a new card - an 80th birthday card for an elegant lady of 80. It is an A4 size folded in half, and there are lots of layers, but the main background is a free image found on google. If you see this post, I'd love to know so I can thank you!  Please leave a comment and I'll happily respond.

Happy Birthday by the Sea

Image
Less is More challenge #386 has the theme of Water.  I am lucky enough to live by the water - walking distance to the local beach - though I don't often actually swim.  The water always seems too cool for me, as we live in Victoria and our beach is one of the beaches around Port Phillip Bay. However, I love to see the sea, so here is my card for this challenge. I went to the trouble of masking the oval on my stamped layer, then decided I would prefer it to be revealed through a top layer with the oval cut out - either way, the water is the feature, achieved with a stamp that looks so realistic!

Happy New Year

Image
Hello friends!  A new year and a resolution (of sorts) which is to post more often, on projects that really interest me!  The Flower Challenge caught my eye this week, so this is the first one of the year for me. My card: Stamp:  Gabis Sunshine by 49 & market; the sentiment and circle are both unbranded Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black, clear embossed, colour - Distress Oxide - Picked Raspberry and Stampin' Up! Smoky Slate Method:  Apply ink to clear block, spritz with water and apply to card front.  A lovely one to start the year - I only hope I can keep going with my good intentions!
