Wow, it has been ages since I've posted, but I'm so happy to be back with the first monthly challenge for the new year at Scrapbook Boutique.
You should have arrived here from Angela's amazing blog but if you haven't and want to start at the beginning, just click on the SBB blog link above and start again!
How will you be inspired by this wonderfully summery mood board?
If you are new to this challenge and you would like to create something or just join in to win, there are two ways you can participate in this challenge and have a chance to win a prize. You can comment on each blog, ending with the SBB blog, or you can create a project (either a card, scrapbook layout or off the page project) inspired by the mood board above. Of course you can do both for a chance to win both prizes! Please check out the rules of entry, and the prizes at the Scrapbook Boutique Blog and note that this challenge is open to Australian and New Zealand residents.
This is what I came up with -
I was immediately taken by those summer colours, the seaside theme and the iconic summer images, such as the beach umbrella and the lifebuoy. I also wanted to use my new MFT stamp set: Snuggle Bunnies, and even had in mind Valentine's Day in a couple of weeks.
Keeping to a limited colour palette, I sponged several Distress Inks through the Kaisercraft stencil, Textures, for my background. I then made the ring from several die cut circles, and wrapped some string around it to create my own focal point. The umbrella is an old die by Memory Box which I cut twice to mimic the edge of the striped umbrella in the mood board. The bunnies were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black on blending card and coloured with Copics before fussy cutting out.
Grey bunny: C1, C2, C5, Y38, BG 23, BG49
Fawn bunny: R000, E00, C1, E11, Y15, B93
We'd love you to join us this month, and surprise us with your creations!
Now you should hop on over to Linda's fantastic blog where you are sure to be treated to something special!
