Scrapbook Boutique March Challenge and Blog Hop

Welcome once again to Scrapbook Boutique's monthly challenge and blog hop.  You should have arrived here from Angela's amazing blog but if you didn't and want to start at the beginning, just click on the SBB blog link above and start again!

Now to the housekeeping part - if you want to create something or just join in to win, there are two ways you can participate in this challenge and have a chance to win a prize.  You can comment on each blog, ending with the SBB blog, or you can create a project (either a card, scrapbook layout or off the page project) inspired by the mood board below.  Of course you can do both for a chance to win both prizes!  Please check out the rules of entry, and the prizes at the Scrapbook Boutique Blog and note that this challenge is open to Australian  and New Zealand residents.

Wow!  Don't those colours really get the creative juices flowing!  So many options that for me, the hardest part was deciding on what I would actually present!

So this is my card for the challenge - I was inspired by the colours (obviously lol) but also the fan and butterflies (well, I think it's a fan in the top right photo).

I started by stamping and white heat embossing the fan image from the Kaisercraft Stamp set Oriental randomly over a panel of watercolour card stock.  I then added Colorburst powder (yellow, green, blue, wine and orange), spritzed with water and allowed to dry.  This took about 2 minutes in our recent Melbourne heat wave!

I trimmed the panel with a scallop frame by Mama Elephant, and mounted it on fun foam.  This was then adhered to black cardstock over a regular sized A2 top fold card.  I added a circle sentiment and some tiny butterflies cut from the same watercolored card.

Remember I was undecided about what to present to you for this challenge?  Well, here are two more cards inspired by that mood board - the first uses a Kaisercraft fan die, plus SBB word dies, and the second uses various leaves from MFT Scribble Flowers.

That's all from me today, but I can't wait to see what you create for this challenge - each month the entries are just amazing and we love to see how everyone seems to take something unique from the mood board.

Now you should hop on over to Linda's fantastic blog!

Thanks for visiting and happy crafting!
