Daisies

I have a couple of simple cards to show today, created with the Stampin' Up! Daisy delight bundle - the stamp set and the punch.  I referred to a die in a previous post, but I should have said punch - I love to coordinate stamps with punches wherever possible as it is so quick to create with them!

I made my own coordinating background paper by stamping two small stamps from the set, and mounted it on a piece of Peekaboo Peach card stock.  The inks are the same peach plus smoky slate.


The daisy has not been stamped on these cards, just sponged around the edges and centre with the peach ink.  I have layered three punched daisies to create a fuller flower.  I think the grey makes a great companion to the peach colour!

We all love shiny things I think, so this week's challenge at Less is More is a JOY!  Here is my card, which will add to my Christmas stash. Hard to see the shine, but the next view might be better. I die cut the Joy to the World Wreath by Cheery Lyn, and inlaid it back into the white card front.  It seems to suit the CAS style better this way.  The shiny sentiment is cut from silver mirror card, mounted to self adhesive foam - as you can see in the shiny photo - no messy glue to spoil the effect! Words, words and more words ...

I don't know what it is about the latest challenge # 191 at Less is More  this week, but each morning I have woken with a new idea in my head.  I will, however, only be entering this first card, but I had fun trying to make my ideas work.  I failed miserably with my final idea this morning, which was to use my Portrait (very new and I have no idea of graphics!!) to create a design which resembled the iPhone app called Word Storm.  I did manage to create an octagon, then a border around it, and then the 8 sections, but when I added the small octagon in the centre, I realised I still did not know how to remove the crossed lines in the centre shape.  Oh dear, back to the drawing board, or to the internet to search for lessons, but I had fun trying to solve my problems.  If anyone reading this could point me in the right direction for good lessons, I would be most grateful.
