May Blog Hop and Challenge at Scrapbook Boutique

Hey there!  Welcome to another blog hop and challenge at Scrapbook Boutique!

There are two ways you can participate in this fun challenge, and have a chance to win a prize:  you can comment on each blog, ending with the SBB blog, or you can create a project (either a card, scrapbook layout or off the page project) inspired by this photo.  Of course you can do both for a chance to win both prizes!  Please check out the rules of entry, and the prizes at the Scrapbook Boutique Blog and note that this challenge is only open to Australian residents.

You should have arrived here from Angela's blog.

Here is this month's inspiration picture

Just look at all that yumminess!

I just couldn't go past the beautiful gold butterfly, the delicate pink zig-zags of the cake wrapper, and the soft romantic feel of this photo, so decided to create a wedding card with the Water Blooms stamp set by Mama Elephant.

I used texture paste tinted with pale pink distress ink, in a chevron stencil by Heidi Swapp for my background, and mounted my flower cluster on a vellum tag which I had dry embossed with Swiss Dots.  My collage was adhered to a stitched rectangle, and completed with the gold heat embossed sentiment (included in the stamp set), a die cut butterfly, a tiny punched butterfly and a scattering of tiny white stars.

I can't wait to see where inspiration takes you - we would all love to see your creations!

From here you will head to  Judith's blog

Good luck everyone!

  1. Beautiful card Anne, love the soft colours and the gold butterfly. Think I will have to give this challenge a go just dont know if I can keep my colours soft enough. Tend to be a bit heavy handed with my colours.
