CASE a DT at LIM

Image
What a different challenge this week at Less is More  where we have to CASE one of the DTs!  As if we don't ALL THE TIME lol!  But seriously, this is a great take on a challenge, as now we have to show you what we have done with your inspiration, and explain our take on your designs.  We had great inspiration from all three DTs as usual, but I have chosen to CASE Chrissie, with her card shown here: and here is my card: My first point was to focus on the square on a rectangle card front, with no other covering of the card.  Then of course it was the flower feature, and here I am using the SSS partial cut flower.  My card was pretty pale compared to Chrissie's gorgeous red flowers, so I used a glitter strip down the centre of scored lines, plus the glitter paper behind the flower.  Although I loved Chrissie's large sentiment, adhered as if cut apart from the bottom image, I deviated entirely from my CASE, and used a small sentiment on a stit...

Sending hedgehugs

Image
Hi there!  This week at Less is More , it is a one-layer challenge, with the inclusion of an animal!  Lots of choice there, but I opted to use a new to me stamp, by Lawn Fawn, called 'Hedgehogs". These cuddly little critters look great however you place them on a card, but I did want to make the background a little more interesting, so sponged a Heidi Swapp stencil with DI, and a little hill to ground them, with the simple sentiment left clear at the top.  Some hearts to go with the hugs, and a little Copic colouring finished this off. I've just been made aware of the challenge at AAAcards , which might suit my card, so will be entering there too!  Thanks for the tip, Sarah!

Wish Big with Avery Elle

Image
I have a card today over at Scrapbook Boutique  blog, using the lovely Storybook stamp set by Avery Elle. I'd love you to pop over to check out my card, but I also have another one here, using the same set. This card is very clean and simple, using just a stamped border (Mama Elephant) and stars from the set for embellishment.  My other card has a bit more to it, but I like them both - what do you think?

Scrapbook Boutique March Blog Hop and Challenge

Image
Welcome to the Scrapbook Boutique March Blog Hop and Challenge.   There are two ways you have a chance to win:  you can comment on each blog participant, ending with the SBB blog, or you can create a project (either a card, scrapbook layout or off the page project) inspired by this photo.  Please check out the rules of entry, and the prizes at the Scrapbook Boutique Blog .  Of course you can participate by entering for both prizes, but sadly this challenge is only open to Australian residents. You should have arrived here from Angela's blog. Here is this month's inspiration picture I was inspired by the delicious pastel colours, the curled brims of the hats and those teeny tiny flowers.  I decided to play with watercolours again, painting those same lovely colours over a white embossed image and shaping my image piece over pretty background paper by Echo Park:  Sunny Days Ahead 6 x 6 paper pack.  The image and sentiment are by Whi...

Green and Yellow colour challenge

Image
Hello everyone!  I'm so happy to be sharing a card with you today joining in the Less is More colour challenge - firstly, because I always enjoy entering their challenges when I can, and secondly, because today I'm actually feeling well enough to sit at my craft desk.  It's hard to create with a thumping headache every day!  I was inspired by the bright springy cards that were on display on the LIM blog, and so tackled my first attempt at using Altenew's Painted Flowers stamp set. Wow, this set is amazing - though I must admit to needing some direction as to how to use it.  If you don't know this set, it has 4 flowers, each with 3-step stamping, plus other leaves etc - do look for it on Pinterest, as there are some beautiful examples of what can be achieved with this set.  My attempt uses only two flowers, plus leaves, and I've used two shades of yellow (Memento Cantaloupe and Luxe Dandelion) and green (Memento Luxe, pear tart and pistachio).  Can I sa...

Exciting News

I have been 'missing in action' for a little while, but I'm back today with some exciting news!  I have been honoured to be added to a prestigious group of ladies, who make up the Scrapbook Boutique design team - I can't believe my good luck!  I have been welcomed warmly by everyone, and will be making my first official appearance at the March challenge blog hop.  Please call by and check out the challenge - they are always interesting, and the inspiration from the team will be sure to kick start those creative juices.
