Opposites Attract

Image
Quick post to make it to Challenge #315 at Less is More this week - a one-layer card with the theme: Opposites Attract.  I just love this image of 'opposites' don't you?  I used my Misti on this card, and when my colouring was finished, I re-stamped with Versafine Onyx black for a sharper edge.  I like the effect - thanks to fellow crafters who have suggested doing this!  Oh, I should mention that on my first attempt, I re-stamped my coloured image, but the paper had just moved a little - oops!  Still, worth a try if you like a defined edge - just ensure your card is back in place carefully. Less is More turns 6!!

Image
I haven't had time to get involved in challenges for quite some time, but here I am again today, because I have just learned that Less is More has turned 6!  This was the challenge that really inspired me to develop my own style, incorporating the less is more mantra!  I'm so pleased that I was able to join in as much as I have been able to over the last few years, and wanted to thank Chrissie and Mandy, Jen and Sarah and all the lovely team members for their inspiring work over those six years. The challenge this week is a colour one - to use three adjacent colours on the colour wheel. I have used a technique I saw recently in a magazine, in which the whole rainbow was coloured using a die cut circle of plastic and sponging around it, but of course I had to keep to three colours.  It's a pretty loose and casual card, but with it go my congratulations to all those wonderful contributors over the past 6 years and my wishes that it continues for many more years.

Flower Challenge #5

Hi there - I've been inspired to join in with the challenge at Flower Challenge  - what's not to love about flowers and today's email advice featured Therese Calvird as guest designer, so my interest was immediately captured!  You can check out Therese's card and those of the regular DTs by clicking on the links above. I was inspired by the die-cut flowers and the coloured word dies of the very talented DTs, so I searched my dies for a suitable die to play with.  I chose Poppy Stamps Delicate Mums for the flower and SSS 'happy' script.  The stamped birthday is also by SSS - Greetings and Succulents. Like Therese, I also used a previously coloured card (I was so happy I found it in less than an hour!) and used the inlaid technique to add the colour.  Of course, I could have simply adhered the cut flower over the coloured card, but I prefer this method - and of course I have another outline in pink to add to the inside of my card later.  I did add the narro
