Life is Doggone Sweet - at Scrapbook Boutique

Image
Just a sneak peak at a card I have featured over at Scrapbook Boutique today.  It's a Penny Black stamp of really lovely dogs Why don't you pop over and see the whole card at Scrapbook Boutique blog?

Masculine theme

Image
Masculine is the theme at Less is More this week.  It just so happens that I bought a sought-after barbecue die this week, so here is my card for this theme.  Barbecues are usually the preserve of the males aren't they?   Well, they are in our family, fortunately! Sentiment stamp:  Gina K designs - One in a Million Dies:  BBQ and fire -Taylored Expression, grass border - MFT, stitched circle - Lil' inker designs embossing folder - Stampin' Up!

Autumn colours

Image
Folks in the Northern Hemisphere are enjoying the change of season to Autumn, with its wonderful colours, cooler breezes and the rewards of harvest time.  Here we are enjoying Spring, with warm weather, new buds and the promise of summer around the corner.  Luckily, where I live, we do experience changes with the season, and autumn is one of my favourites!  Autumn is also the theme for the one-layer challenge at Less is More this week - #245. One layer often calls for masking, and that is what I've done here.  The leaf stamp is by Hero Arts - small liquidamber, stamped with Versafine vintage sepia ink and the panel has been sponged with Distress Inks:  Shabby shutters, spiced marmalade and festive berries.  The strip and sentiment (by Clearly Besotted) have been heat embossed with Ranger platinum embossing powder.

Scrapbook Boutique Monthly Challenge and Blog Hop

Image
Time for a new challenge over at Scrapbook boutique, and this month's inspiration picture is so crisp and bright it's bound to get those creative juices flowing!   But first, let's check on how to be a part of all the fun! There are two ways you can participate in this challenge, and have a chance to win a prize:  you can comment on each blog, ending with the SBB blog, or you can create a project (either a card, scrapbook layout or off the page project) inspired by this photo.  Of course you can do both for a chance to win both prizes!  Please check out the rules of entry, and the prizes at the  Scrapbook Boutique Blog  and note that this challenge is only open to Australian residents. You should have arrived here from  Angela's  blog. There was so much to inspire in this photo - the colours - the bright contrast of red, white, black and a little green;  the shapes - circles and zig zags; google eyes and the numeral.  Here is what I came up with:

Jewel colours

Image
Week 244 at Less is More and it's a colour theme:  Jewel colours! Image black heat embossed onto watercolour card and then mounted on Royal Blue foil, and the largest stitched square just dry embossed. I intend to add a sentiment when this card is needed.  Stamp:  by Inkadinkado Colour medium:  Zig Clean Colour Real Brush pens Dies:  Stitched squares by Lil' Inker

Poinsettia Christmas

Image
Just a quick post for a Christmas card to enter in the  Christmas challenge at Happy Little Stampers  - which requires a Poinsettia to be used.  Funnily enough I have spent the weekend making 6 Poinsettia cards for my card group friends - but I can't post that because then there will be no surprises!  So today I looked in my stash for a poinsettia stamp and found this little beauty by Gina K Designs. I also used a sweet die cut by Wplus9 (Little Christmas Bits) for the Merry and bow and part of a sentiment by the HLS set, Mixed Christmas Sentiments for the Christmas.  No colouring by markers on this card, as I stamped or sponged with Distress inks, apart from the image, which was stamped in Smoky Slate by Stampin' Up!  A Simon Says Stitched rectangle for the white panel, and that was popped up over DSP from the Stacked with Love pad by SU.
