Image
Welcome once again to  Scrapbook Boutique's  monthly challenge and blog hop.  You should have arrived here from  Angela's  amazing blog and inspiration, but if you didn't and want to start at the beginning, just click on the SBB blog link above and start again!   Now to the housekeeping part - if you want to create something or just join in to win, there are two ways you can participate in this challenge and have a chance to win a prize.  You can comment on each blog, ending with the SBB blog, or you can create a project (either a card, scrapbook layout or off the page project) inspired by this photo.  Of course you can do both for a chance to win both prizes!  Please check out the rules of entry, and the prizes at the  Scrapbook Boutique Blog  and note that this challenge is open to Australian  and New Zealand residents. A Lifetime of Happiness

Quick post to show this wedding card I've made for a friend who is the mother of the groom.  She has been asked to 'do' the flowers - 3 bridesmaids, one bride and the table settings - and she has to travel to Canberra (from Melbourne).  Naturally, she is delighted the bride has asked her to participate so fully - what a great start! The stamp here is by Penny Black, but I don't know the name, as it belongs to a friend, but I love the elegant simplicity of its lines.  I immediately thought of my friend (mother of groom) and so have made it the wedding card.  The lovely sentiment is by Clearly Besotted. It is a long card, so I needed to make a custom envelope, which I coordinated to the card.  The initials of the couple have been gold embossed, and the contrast panel is by Memory Box - Flicker Hearts. I hope it is acceptable!

LIM #185 - Animal

Image
Great challenge this week at Less is More - the theme is animal.  No other restrictions - it doesn't have to be a one layer either - Chrissie, you are too kind! So without further ado, here is my card: I have used a really lovely stamp by Penny Black, but one that I have only used once before.  I thought I could try watercolour again as there really isn't much to colour (phew!).  Once I had let it all dry, I decided to do a wash background.  You might not think that was a big decision on my part, but as I do have a tendency to mess things up, I often play safe and leave 'well enough alone' but this time I dived in, and like the result.  I thought the cheery sentiment from Paper Smooches was the best choice for this friendly card.

Less is More - use a rubber stamp

Image
Penny Black is the sponsor for this week's challenge at Less is More , which is to use a Rubber Stamp! I initially started my large collection of stamps with rubber stamps and they adorn the wall in my craft room, tidily arranged in little cubby holes - all 60 of them!  But now, it is the thing to buy the clear stamps, which are great, but they are usually stored away in boxes or filing folders, so are not quite so available for inspiration.  So with no reluctance at all, I chose a rubber stamp - it was a Penny Black hedgehog (I notice there have been a few used already in the challenge) - I actually completed mine this Sunday morning, but it is Fathers' Day here today, and our closest family members were here for lunch - so I waited till they left late afternoon to complete my blog post.  The image has been heat embossed in black, and coloured with distress markers.  The sentiment is by Amy Tangerine.
