Trick or Treat

Image
A quick post to share some Halloween boxes I made to send to our youngest grand-daughters who used to love Halloween when they lived in the States.  I hope they like the treats inside these boxes/cards.  I have CASed the idea from Sam from Mixed Up Craft - it opens like a card, but with the box behind and kept closed with the belly band.  Sam has wonderful projects to share, so please check out her youtube and blog!

Monster Birthday

Image
The theme for this week's challenge at Less is Mor e is Monsters!  I have ordered some monster dies, but they wouldn't arrive in time, so I returned to an old stamp from Annabelle Stamps - Monster Birthday!  I love this old friend of mine, so here is my card. The dies that have already arrived however, were the paint splats, so they were added to my little monster to create this monster birthday card!

Stars

Image
This week at Less is More challenge number 350 is a one-layer card with the theme of Stars. I'm caught up with making Christmas cards at the moment, as I expect many of you are, so I thought of this challenge as an opportunity to make another card for my Christmas stash. My  lovely star came as a free gift with the magazine Cardmaking in Easy Steps Issue 17, which is at least a year old I think.  I white heat embossed the stamped star, heat set it, then used a star frame lit by Stampin' Up! to dry emboss around the shape.  Difficult to see I know, but in real life, it does add a little something.  The sentiment is an old Verve stamp and the little cluster of stars is from SU Year of Cheers stamp set. Ink for spongeing:  Distress Oxide:  Cracked Pistachio, Broken China and Wilted Violet.

Hot and Spicy - Less is More challenge #349

Image
Challenge #349 at Less is More  is a colour one - the theme is Hot and Spicy!  What fun!  I was thinking food of course, then Mexico, fiestas and the colours so predominant there - red, orange, green - hot and spicy colours.   So coming from that perspective, here is my card: We can get pretty hot and steamy in Australia of course, but the spice really says Mexico to me.
