Pierce your Project

Image
Challenge @339 at Less is More this week is to pierce your project - paper piercing, brads, sewing etc. I have been wanting to create a card using some of my favourite Stampin' Up! inks, including this new season's colours, so this is what I have 'pierced'. I stamped several colours of inks using the swipe image from Work of Art (SU), then die cut the Flicker Hearts die by Memory Box, which pierces some of the hearts as well as cutting some out.  So my piercing was achieved without pin pricks, then I mounted up the cut hearts to replace them in their original space, but 3D.  The sentiment is also from Work of Art and uses the new colour Fresh Fig.  My panel is cut using Simon Says Stamp stitched frames. Other inks are:  Peek-a-Boo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lime Twist, Bermuda Bay and Wisteria Wonder.

Hello - only dies

The call this week at Less is More  is to use NO stamps!  Well fortunately, we do have plenty of options, and from my stash of dies, this is what I have made. Recipe: Dies:  Sweet n Sassy shapes dies, Memory Box Fresh Foliage, Scrapbook Boutique 'hello' Coloured pieces - paint chips

Just for You

My one layer card today is primarily for Less is More 2-week challenge - to use any card base other than white! My card is grey, bought at our local Officeworks store, and the stamp and sentiment are Stampin' Up! - The flower spray from Awesomely Artistic, and the sentiment and butterfly from Butterfly Basics. I used Prismacolour pencils to colour the image, outlining in black, slightly shading in pale grey and highlighting with white, and ultimately adding a little more white with a Signo pen.  The outline of the whole image is also shaded slightly.  I added white liquid pearls to the flower centres. So one layer, and also simple!  I thoroughly enjoyed my half hour or so of colouring - very relaxing! Thanks so much for visiting!

Daisies

I have a couple of simple cards to show today, created with the Stampin' Up! Daisy delight bundle - the stamp set and the punch.  I referred to a die in a previous post, but I should have said punch - I love to coordinate stamps with punches wherever possible as it is so quick to create with them! I made my own coordinating background paper by stamping two small stamps from the set, and mounted it on a piece of Peekaboo Peach card stock.  The inks are the same peach plus smoky slate. The daisy has not been stamped on these cards, just sponged around the edges and centre with the peach ink.  I have layered three punched daisies to create a fuller flower.  I think the grey makes a great companion to the peach colour! If you would like to purchase this bundle and live in Australia, please let me know in the comments section below and I can arrange for it to arrive at your door!

Colours of Australia's flag

Image
A fun colour challenge at Less is Mor e this week - and it is the colours of your countries flag.  As a member of the British Commonwealth, Australia's flag incorporates the red, white and blue of the Union Jack, as well as the stars of the Southern Cross plus an extra 7-pointed star known as the Commonwealth Star - in recognition of the Federation (then Commonwealth) of Australia.  My picture alternates between the maritime flag (red background) and the country flag. Here is my card in red, white and blue - photographed at night, so it's a little dark!  I'll try again in the morning to achieve a better colour. Card recipe: Dies - Avery Elle Burst Die, Poppy Stamps Marina Sailboat,  Stamps - Stampin' Up! Teeny Tiny Sentimenst and Labeller Alphabet Ink - Stampin' Up! Real Red, Versamark and white embossing powder
