Scrapbook Boutique April Blog Hop and Challenge

Image
Welcome once again to  Scrapbook Boutique's  monthly challenge and blog hop.  You should have arrived here from  Angela's  amazing blog but if you didn't and want to start at the beginning, just click on the SBB blog link above and start again!   Now to the housekeeping part - if you want to create something or just join in to win, there are two ways you can participate in this challenge and have a chance to win a prize.  You can comment on each blog, ending with the SBB blog, or you can create a project (either a card, scrapbook layout or off the page project) inspired by this photo.  Of course you can do both for a chance to win both prizes!  Please check out the rules of entry, and the prizes at the  Scrapbook Boutique Blog  and note that this challenge is open to Australian  and New Zealand residents. So what will you make inspired by these soft pastel colours?  I was thinking Easter, so this is what I came up with. I have made a clean and simple card

One-layer curve

This week's challenge at Less is More is the one-layer card - with the theme 'curve'.  The one-layer requirement is always tricky, but this week I think I've found a solution to both the one layer and curve.  I have heat embossed in gold both the flag banner from a photopolymer set by Creativ, and the sentiment from a freebie from Cardmaking and Papercrafts magazine.  After embossing, I sponged Squeezed Lemonade, Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers distress inks over the card front in a curve, to match the banner.  A few specks of water to add interest. I'm afraid it's not a good day to photograph my card today, as cold autumn rains have just arrived to spoil our run of perfect weather, which in Melbourne is nearly always present in early autumn, even if we miss out on a few days of sunshine in summer.

Thanks for the music

Quick post of the card I made for my brother - a very keen and able guitarist!  I know he likes it, as he's just told me:) I did add the Happy Birthday sentiment after I took this picture - just below the guitar. The stamp is by Darkroom Door - I stamped it on watercolour paper using my Misti, so could stamp it repeatedly with various colours, although I admit it looks like I only used two colours!

Baby XO

I have a new baby card for the challenge at Less is More this week - challenge #322 is to use 3 pastels in your card. The sweet pastel colours are so traditional for babies, so I was more than happy to use the cute little teddy bear images from the MFT stamp set - Snuggle Bunnies.  Bunnies are the larger images in that set, but I'm trying to use the many small images that can be overlooked sometimes. The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted and the stitched squares are Stampin' Up! Stitched Framelits.
