Something Real for LIM

Image
A new week and a new challenge at Less is More - this week it is to use something real.  I often save little things that I think I might be able to use on a card - a leather tag, an interesting button, some amazing fabric - I'm sure I'm not alone in doing this - but do you think I could find these 'treasures' this morning?  Of course not - that is the way it is - so I had to search in my craft room and came across some feathers fortunately, so this is what I used. I trimmed it a little to complement my stamped feather, which was heat embossed and sponged over with grey, and added a small silver bow, considering it suitable for a sympathy card.  The stamped feather and sentiment is by Hot off the Press.  The stitched frame is by Mama Elephant in their Basic Set.

Have a Great Birthday

My card today is for the Less is More one layer challenge, with the theme of vehicle.  One layer means that images must be stamped directly to the card - hence no extra layers, so that meant all my lovely dies relating to vehicles were not to be used. However, I do have a cute steam train which has dies, but fortunately also stamps, by Clearly Besotted - it is called Full Steam Ahead and is perfect for a little boy's birthday card. I have used Stampin' Up! inks - boyish colours of Bermuda Bay, Lemon Lime Twist, Smoky Slate and Dapper Denim, but for a little zing, I used my Quickie Glue Pen to write over the clouds and numeral then sprinkled over white glitter. Now to find a little imp to pass this on to....

Scrapbook Boutique August blog hop and challenge

Image
Welcome once again to  Scrapbook Boutique's  monthly challenge and blog hop.  You should have arrived here from  Angela's  amazing blog but if you didn't and want to start at the beginning, just click on the SBB blog link above and start again!   This mood board so captures how we are feeling here in Victoria this month - grey skies and rain but hoping for a ray of sunlight to brighten us up!  There are also themes of friends and children, flowers and nature - so what part/s will inspire you? Now to the housekeeping part - if you want to create something or just join in to win, there are two ways you can participate in this challenge and have a chance to win a prize.  You can comment on each blog, ending with the SBB blog, or you can create a project (either a card, scrapbook layout or off the page project) inspired by this photo.  Of course you can do both for a chance to win both prizes!  Please check out the rules of entry, and the prizes at the  Scrapbo
