You're the Best

Image
Another quick CAS card to submit to Addicted to CAS this week, being that the code word is CAT. Quick and easy - just a stitched frame over a sponged panel, which had been flicked with water, then the remains of said panel adhered beside the frame - it gives some needed dimension I thought. The die cut cats from my stash are so cute, and the sentiment is by Altenew - Heartfelt Sentiments.

Roar

Image
My card today will suit two challenges - the first is Less is More challenge #365   which is to use dry embossing, and the second is Addicted to CAS where the code word for challenge #130 is CAT. I'm having a laugh obviously at the very timid-looking cat, who appears as if a roar would frighten the life out of him, but the advice to 'unleash your inner beast' is good for all of us at times:) Stamp is Tim Holtz Mini Cats and Dogs, sentiment by MFT Fierce Friends Embossing strip is by Darice (I'm thinking it is markings of a wild cat????) Spongeing uses Distress Oxides:  Fossilised Amber, Twisted Citron and Broken China Die cut rectangle by Simon Says Stamp

Leafy border birthday card

Image
This card follows the sketch on CAS(e) this sketch #258 . As soon as I saw it I knew what I wanted to make - here is my card. A pretty little leaf border, a tiny picket fence and a gorgeous sentiment by Clearly Besotted.  The lovely font matches the swirls on the leaves, don't you think? I sponged the white card to colour the leafy border and also for the tiny butterflies - I like the soft colour combination.

Happy 7th Birthday to Less is More

Image
Congratulations to Less is More and all those designers who work to bring us wonderful inspiration on such a regular basis - it has been seven exciting years!  The theme for today's challenge #364 is Music and I see that the code word at Addicted to CAS is Teal, so my card today combines those two elements. Die cut musical happy birthday from my stash, a treble clef from a magazine freebie, and to you by Stampin Up. I arrived at my Teal colour by blending Distress Oxide Broken China and Cracked Pistachio and Memento Teal Zeal. Feeling pretty chuffed that I have managed to combine two challenges in one card!  Just a start but I can only get better:)

Freshly Made Sketches #322

Image
Today I am entering the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches #322   for the first time!  I follow Narelle Farrugia, and often Pin her cards and the sketch, but this time I felt I should actually enter too:) I made this card yesterday for a friend about to undergo an operation, and as you can see, it complies with the sketch perfectly! My products are from everywhere - My Favourite Things - Beautiful Butterflies for the watercoloured stamps, but as I didn't own the accompanying die, I used a Memory Box die for a rough outline, then trimmed it a little to look better.  I used a variety of Distress Inks for the colour.  The scalloped frame is from my stash, popped up with foam,  and the sentiment is by Clearly Besotted.  Some Ranger Enamel dots have been added. I hope to be able to enter this challenge again soon!
