Opposites Attract

Quick post to make it to Challenge #315 at Less is More this week - a one-layer card with the theme: Opposites Attract.

 I just love this image of 'opposites' don't you?  I used my Misti on this card, and when my colouring was finished, I re-stamped with Versafine Onyx black for a sharper edge.  I like the effect - thanks to fellow crafters who have suggested doing this!  Oh, I should mention that on my first attempt, I re-stamped my coloured image, but the paper had just moved a little - oops!  Still, worth a try if you like a defined edge - just ensure your card is back in place carefully.

    This is so cute, Ann! I love the idea of short and tall, and the way the girl is reaching up with her balloon towards the giraffe... adorable! Great tip about re-stamping the outline of an image after colouring to keep it crisp (and lining up the paper - just the kind of thing I'd forget!).     A great opposites theme and thanks for the tip. I think this will be great when using coloured pencils and this certainly dulls the stamped lines.

    Gorgeous card Ann! I've also mis-stamped once before when I thought I had lined it up... of course it was a really detailed large image that it happened too, and I had to start again, grrr lol. otherwise I agree, it's a great technique!

Scrapbook Boutique May Blog Hop and Challenge

Welcome to another blog hop and challenge at Scrapbook Boutique - this month it is based on this amazing mood board! You should have arrived here from  Angela's  lovely blog. What a beautiful collection of images, celebrating motherhood, new babies and all things girly! I just love to make 'new baby' cards, and was inspired by the little ballet shoes and dress to embellish my card with the tulle ribbon.  I also loved the metallic letters, but thought silver was a softer option than gold with pink, so kept to the silver dots on my pattern paper, as well as the silver twine.  I created my own background with a little strip of hearts from a Lawn Fawn set called Into the Woods.  Now for a close-up, to catch that sparkle!
