Less is More Challenge #129

This week's challenge at LIM is to include a handmade flower in your project.  For those who have visited my blog recently, you may remember that I have been making crochet flowers to incorporate in my cards, and I have shown them in my recent post here.  However, the rules of the competition do not allow projects already posted, so I have made a very different card for this challenge.  Just some punched flowers this time, but it has turned out to be a cheerful card, so I'm happy with it.  I just wish I had not been in such a hurry to post my crochet flowers!  The small vases came from an Annabelle Stamp set called Flowers for You, and the little flower stem is also by Annabelle Stamps, and is Floral Stems.  The bee is from a small set by Avocado Arts.

Something Shiny

We all love shiny things I think, so this week's challenge at Less is More is a JOY!  Here is my card, which will add to my Christmas stash. Hard to see the shine, but the next view might be better. I die cut the Joy to the World Wreath by Cheery Lyn, and inlaid it back into the white card front.  It seems to suit the CAS style better this way.  The shiny sentiment is cut from silver mirror card, mounted to self adhesive foam - as you can see in the shiny photo - no messy glue to spoil the effect! While visiting the LIM blog, I realised that my card would also qualify for the current  Muse challenge.   This is the first time I have entered, so here are their rules: Use  the inspiration card as a starting point - strictly speaking, I found my card fits the criteria after I had made it, but the links are - metallic sentiment, scattered berries, and a stitched border to frame the panel. Words, words and more words ...

I don't know what it is about the latest challenge # 191 at Less is More  this week, but each morning I have woken with a new idea in my head.  I will, however, only be entering this first card, but I had fun trying to make my ideas work.  I failed miserably with my final idea this morning, which was to use my Portrait (very new and I have no idea of graphics!!) to create a design which resembled the iPhone app called Word Storm.  I did manage to create an octagon, then a border around it, and then the 8 sections, but when I added the small octagon in the centre, I realised I still did not know how to remove the crossed lines in the centre shape.  Oh dear, back to the drawing board, or to the internet to search for lessons, but I had fun trying to solve my problems.  If anyone reading this could point me in the right direction for good lessons, I would be most grateful.
