Sweet Stop Sketch #229
Another sketch for you today, from the Sweet Stop - it has a spin - and it is School Time.
I loved making this card, as I have just completed cards for my youngest grand-daughters, who live in the US and have just commenced their new school year. I'll show you those later in this blog. But for this card, to follow the sketch, I used the Rhubarb digi image, Back to School - and assorted papers from a Kaisercraft pad called, appropriately, Class Act. The corkboard background paper is from that pack - isn't it special? I cut the stars using a Sweet 'n Sassy die set, Star Dies, which has been so useful to me. Look further below if you want to see my personal Back to School cards.
For now, check out the other sugar babies, for lots of inspiration.
Cathy McCauley, Korin Sutherland, Ceal Pritchett, Marlena Peduzzi, Melissa Shultz, Robin Parker, Stephanie Serrano, Cynthia Olheiser,Debbie Owens, and Jamie Moore.
My cards made for Georgia, who's 5years old and Lucy, who's nearly 7 and just starting first year of 'big' school! Magic! The wonderful thing for me was seeing the joy on their faces when they opened their mail - we were talking on Skype at the time! As a special way of keeping in touch with these little ones, who have lived out of our country for 3 years now, I try to make them each a special card about once a month - there's always something special to celebrate, or acknowledge - so they receive a steady stream of cards from us. It's a wonderful way for me to connect, and use my new-found skills in card-making!
Adorable cards, Ann! I'm sure your granddaughters loved them.
ReplyDeleteDarling cards Ann. Love the swete images (both Rhubarb and the owl). The papers are perfect for the theme. The felt piece looks awesome. What a nice way of using your talent Ann. It's these little gestures that one day will be rememebered, I am sure...
