Celebrations at Less is More!
Congratulations to Less is More this week, on reaching their 200th Challenge! What a great challenge site this is! The always friendly, encouraging comments from Chrissie and her DTs are so appreciated. To celebrate this milestone, well, the theme is Celebrations, naturally lol! I am entering a card I will be presenting tomorrow, to a dear friend, husband of my card-maker mentor, so although I don't mention or use the word 'celebrations' on the front of my card, I hope it qualifies. An 80th birthday is certainly worth celebrating!
I love this colour combination for male cards, making a similar card to this for my grandson earlier this month, as he turned 17. The stars were cut using framelit dies by Stampin' Up!, as well as a die by Sweet'nSassy for the outline star and I have assembled them using the inlaid die technique that I have seen on Pinterest lately. A real test for my spatially-challenged brain, but so worth the effort, I feel. Together with the spliced background, it did give me a slight headache! The word die 'happy' is by Simon Says Stamp, cut a few times and stacked together, then coated with Glossy Accents to give it that enamel look. The numeral 80 is created by adhering strips of card stock to a base sheet, then cutting out with a die. I have used this technique quite a lot to make numerals to match my cards. A few black accents complete this card.
I'm away again later this week, so look forward to participating in the December challenges when I'm home again. I will be visiting LIM during the week, to comment as much as I can!
Congratulations again on this milestone, LIM - and I'm sure we are all looking forward to those future challenges, which keep us on our toes, and always developing!

This is gorgeous Ann, but it's not actually congratulations,(although we gratefully accept them from you,) but Celebrations... and your card is perfect for that!
ReplyDeleteWe're so pleased that you are such a faithful participant in our challenges!
Thanks so much

Vibrant and fun, such a great card! Hazel x
ReplyDeleteWonderful card. Love all the elements. Inlaid die cutting and the "80" are fantastic. It all comes together and gives a wonderful effect.
ReplyDeleteBefore I go thanks for visiting me. I left a reply to your comment. In case you miss it thank you. I am so glad you like your stamps and I hope to see you post a few pics. I think we must have similar ideas for our book club friends. I have started to put together some book labels which I plan to finish next week. I have a few other projects which must be completed this week. Enjoy your time away.
Actually, I made book labels from that set first, for our little grand-daughters in the States, as we love to give them books, but those inserts really make them personal. The book marks were a simple job, to make up for me missing the last meeting. I, too, love how ideas get shared in blogland - it is a wonderful source of inspiration, and everyone seems so generous - including and especially yourself! I hope to post again before Christmas! hugs, Ann
