Friends

A quick post today for the Less is More challenge - Friends!  I've used one of my favourite stamps from  Art Impressions, called 'Old Guys'.


I love the silence of those old guys, sitting companionably on the park bench, not needing to talk, or fill the space, just content to be with old friends.  How lucky are they?

I coloured the image with Copics, and added a panel of denim-looking paper at the side.  I also stamped the image at the bottom of my card, leaving some of the original stamp off the page - it is a neat technique I have seen Therese Calvird do a number of times, and I think it can make a simple image look more effective.  I have included a link to her blog here.  After taking the photo for this challenge at night, I added pin points to their eyes - they are not so visible in the photo.  Hoping everyone is enjoying the companionship of friends in their lives - where would we be without them?

    Fab card. Love your CASe - Therese is very inspirational. Fab image too. It reminds me of our Mr M - we call the chairs at shopping centres "M chairs". Having 3 sisters and often taken with us to the shops he waits for us on the chairs. He doesn't have these guys expression but this just reminds me of him.

Scrapbook Boutique May Blog Hop and Challenge

Welcome to another blog hop and challenge at Scrapbook Boutique - this month it is based on this amazing mood board! You should have arrived here from  Angela's  lovely blog. What a beautiful collection of images, celebrating motherhood, new babies and all things girly! I just love to make 'new baby' cards, and was inspired by the little ballet shoes and dress to embellish my card with the tulle ribbon.  I also loved the metallic letters, but thought silver was a softer option than gold with pink, so kept to the silver dots on my pattern paper, as well as the silver twine.  I created my own background with a little strip of hearts from a Lawn Fawn set called Into the Woods.  Now for a close-up, to catch that sparkle!
