Happy Birthday to Less is More - 4 years old and thriving!
Less is More is celebrating 4 years this week - congratulations to everyone involved in this great challenge site! May you continue for many years to come.
This week's challenge is a colour combo - pink and grey - a lovely combination!
My card was inspired by Debbie Hughes' tag card for Clearly Besotted - so soft and subtle and dreamy. Please check her card out here as it is just so lovely! Of course, I didn't have any of the products she used, so hunted around my supplies for a suitable flower image and beyond that, I pretty well CASED her layout completely! My flower (Gina K design) is white heat embossed on vellum, and I chose to colour the back of it with a soft pink copic marker. My die cut tag is stamped with a background stamp by Kaisercraft in Fog ink by Simon Says Stamp and the cluster is grouped on a stitched journal tag by Lawn Fawn cut from paper from my stash. The background is a chevron ef by Stampin' Up! and some SSS washi is used for the top and bottom strips.
I have been deliberately trying to use more of my pattern paper lately, after valiantly trying to keep everything so clean and simple, so this effort may be too busy for LIM, so I'm sorry if that is the case. I will still try for the clean and simple look that I do love, but I am finding that I enjoy making prettier cards than some I have been making lately, so will endeavour to find a happy balance.
Below, for interest, I am adding some cards I have just finished using Stampin' Up!'s Lotus Blossom stamp. It is a 3-step process, and I think the result is very effective. I used SU designer paper for the background as I have been intent on doing, but I have kept the layout pretty clean and simple.
Ann, I love your tag card with the embossing. The velum flower is a nice touch. I am visiting your blog from less is more and am your newest follower. Please stop by my blog and say HI. Traci
