Scrapbook Boutique July Challenge and Blog Hop
Welcome to the new monthly challenge at Scrapbook Boutique!
You should have arrived here from Angela's delightful blog.
Here is the mood board to inspire you this month - so soft, pretty and inspiring!
Don't you just love those uplifting sentiments?
Now to the housekeeping part - if you want to create something or just join in to win, there are two ways you can participate in this challenge and have a chance to win a prize. You can comment on each blog, ending with the SBB blog, or you can create a project (either a card, scrapbook layout or off the page project) inspired by this photo. Of course you can do both for a chance to win both prizes! Please check out the rules of entry, and the prizes at the Scrapbook Boutique Blog and note that this challenge is open to Australian and New Zealand residents.
Here is what I was inspired to create.
For me, it was the soft colours, the bokeh effect of the flashing lights, and those pink flowers. I also searched for an uplifting message from my stash, and thought this one by Altenew was just the thing.
After I achieved the dark background by sponging with Distress Inks, Pumice Stone and Shaded Lilac I found rather than stamping various circles, the best results came when I punched 4 sizes of circles out of a large piece of cardstock, being sure to leave a good space between each circle, so as not to smudge outside the circle. I then moved this 'template' around the centre of my card front, spongeing inside the chosen circle shape. The last step was to sponge all sizes of circles in a white opaque ink to create the bokeh effect.
I wonder what this mood board inspires you to create - we'd love you to share with us:)
From here you should hop over to Linda's blog where she is bound to be sharing something sensational!
Thanks for visiting and happy crafting!
