Scrapbook Boutique May Blog Hop and Challenge

Welcome once again to Scrapbook Boutique's monthly challenge and blog hop.  You should have arrived here from Angela's amazing blog but if you didn't and want to start at the beginning, just click on the SBB blog link above and start again!
Here is the beautiful mood board for May

Now to the housekeeping part - if you want to create something or just join in to win, there are two ways you can participate in this challenge and have a chance to win a prize.  You can comment on each blog, ending with the SBB blog, or you can create a project (either a card, scrapbook layout or off the page project) inspired by this photo.  Of course you can do both for a chance to win both prizes!  Please check out the rules of entry, and the prizes at the Scrapbook Boutique Blog and note that this challenge is open to Australian  and New Zealand residents.
Below is my response to the mood board.  The image that really excited me in this board - don't get me wrong, I love strawberries and macarons, pretty teacups and fast cars! - but the beautiful blue sky showing through the gorgeous pink blossom, really spoke to me!  And so I set about creating the background for my card, using a stencil and embossing paste tinted pink with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, and then I coloured the areas outside of the patternwith a blue Prismacolour pencil.  I love how soft this looks.

My feature stamps are flowers from Altenew's Stunning Cosmos flower set - but instead of using all layers included in the set, I simply stamped the outline onto watercolour paper die cut with the matching dies and tried a few different techniques to achieve the softest look I could manage.  I've used both Gesso and white acrylic paint, plus some water - I love how they have turned out.  I've added some foliage from Leafy Greenery die by MFT.  The sentiment has been stamped onto some blue dot paper - to simulate the sentiment in the mood board.  It is Mothers Day shortly in Australia, so this card will be sent to one of the super mums in my family.  Very best wishes to all mums everywhere - I hope you enjoy your special day!

Now you should hop on over to   Linda's blog to find out what she has created to inspire you!

Thanks for visiting and happy crafting!
