Love, love, love is all you need!


Such a hot day yesterday, so perfect excuse to stay in my air conditioned craft room, and make a selection of 'masculine' Valentine cards.

The split heart die needed 5 different papers, so that meant I could make 5 cards!  I've not photographed the fifth card - don't know why - but I'll add it to the end of the post.  I chose these bolder colours, rather than the softer, prettier tones usually used for valentine cards, because I thought  males might appreciate the style of these more - what do you think?


Here is the 5th card

and a further card, made by inserting arcs from various size circles into the edge of the large heart.  The striped background is vellum (Stampin' Up from a couple of years ago).

    What a great idea! Great way to make a load of cards reasonably quickly (I assume!).

      Thank you Vikki - yes, you're right it was relatively quick! I tried to create slightly different designs for each card, just to keep it interesting. I'm partial to red, black and grey for masculine cards:)

Scrapbook Boutique May Blog Hop and Challenge

Welcome to another blog hop and challenge at Scrapbook Boutique - this month it is based on this amazing mood board! You should have arrived here from  Angela's  lovely blog. What a beautiful collection of images, celebrating motherhood, new babies and all things girly! I just love to make 'new baby' cards, and was inspired by the little ballet shoes and dress to embellish my card with the tulle ribbon.  I also loved the metallic letters, but thought silver was a softer option than gold with pink, so kept to the silver dots on my pattern paper, as well as the silver twine.  I created my own background with a little strip of hearts from a Lawn Fawn set called Into the Woods.  Now for a close-up, to catch that sparkle!
