Showered with love

I have always found the sentiment 'showered with love' so beautiful, with its connotations of sheltering someone with your love, an over-abundance of love being showered on someone, and of course, the showers that are precursors of bright flowers and happier times.   So when I saw Darnell's twofer this morning, for the challenge 'umbrella and/or rain' and having one card already made that qualified, I set to to create another card so that I could enter for the first time.  






I didn't stray far from my first card,  but instead added some flowers to my little gum boots (as they are called in Australia - if I was still in England they would be 'wellies' short for Wellington Boots) - I don't know what they are in the US.  Hopefully someone will let me know.

    Beautiful card, and "rain boots" -- we have such fancy names here in the US (at least in my corner)! Lovely plaid and I can see the puddles from the love around the boots :o)

    I love your pretty cards, Ann, so perfect for spring weather! The plaid borders and the sweet details (like the flowers on the gum boots and upside down umbrella) are as sweet as can be!     Two darling cards with the umbrella theme! Perfect with the plaid paper to accent! I don't know what other parts of US call them, but I call them rain boots. Then we have snow boots - lots of those - and boots for every occasion :)

Wonderful News

The challenge at LIM this week is to use washi - how lucky for me that yesterday I tried CASEing a card I saw on Etsy which used a single wooden button on a small notecard.  I didn't use a wooden button, but a die I've had for ages, with WASHI on cardstock - - woo hoo! So I'm ready early today - Sunday morning here in Australia, with temps in the 30s! Cardstock cut 18cm x 9cm for a top fold 9 x 9cm (3.5" x 3.5") Stamp is a freebie from Cardmaking and Papercraft Issue 165 - love the fonts Die is by Simon Says Stamp - Partial Cut Flowers Button die is a set of 3 by Joy! Crafts Washi - unknown origin but printed cloth tape about 1.5 inches wide Below are a couple more cards I made using washi.
