A Masculine Card - marathon effort

I have spent most of this day making the card I have to show you below.  I first saw the original in a pinterest site, but after making my own version with printed, coordinating paper, I searched for the author of the deconstructed chevrons, and found it was JJBolton. I should have looked first, but because I'm not a good 'copier' ie. if I see something I like, then I feel inhibited to change it, whereas if I remember an idea, I can do my own thing, and it will be quite different - usually not so good of course!  JJBolton's is the most amazing card, so please check hers out if you haven't come across her before - she just excels in CAS cards of the most exquisite kind.
Perhaps I shouldn't be showing you this card, then, but hey, we all have to try our hand at new things, and they won't always be perfect - lol!  I had a most trying time with this card, as I really wanted it to be special for my son-in-law, and in truth, I am proud of it, but it did take an inordinate amount of time!  The logistics of actually completing the panel stumped me for a while, as I am truly challenged when it comes to spacial relations - what an admission for a cardmaker to make, but it's true!  The papers I used are a random assortment from my stash, in a combination of colours I like - aqua, orange and brown/craft.  The woodgrain paper adhered to the card front adds to the masculine feel.

  1. Ann, this is so clever. LOVE those 'deconstructed' chevrons and the vellum sentiment is perfect, I can see how you were inspired.
