Very simple and very CAS

For the card I have made today, I am using my new stamp set, by lilybeedesign, called Buttercup, which includes a couple of background blocks.  I have seen these small pattern squares elsewhere (eg Clearly Besotted, UK), but this is the first time I have been able to use them.  In addition to these extra elements to use, I have also been trying to master the crochet flower.  Thank goodness for YouTube tutorials, and the patient crafters who share their knowledge.  I looked at several videos, including ones by ginacrafter, crochet geek and iknitwithcatfur (she doesn't), and taking advice from all of them, I have managed to complete quite a few.  They are really quick to make, and although I'm no expert, I think they make a nice embellishment for a card.  So simple, but effective - I like it.




















The last card has been made by my grandson, Alex - it is a Thank you card for the teacher at his school who has been coordinating the students involved in this year's State Schools Spectacular, of which he is a participant.  The students gain so much from their involvement in this thoroughly professional production, and a great big thank you is deserved by all those who help to make it happen.

    I love these ones mum! You could make me a bunch of thank you cards like this and I'll buy them!! Not as much love necessary but ones I can give to teachers, friends and family. do you have a 'with love' stamp instead of love you? seriously, I'll take 10 at least! "thanks Mum - you're the best!" you can make one like that too, you'll see it come round soon, lol!

    We can definitely get some work done while he's at work, eh? Just put a curtain over the 'stuff' in the basement, so he can't see what we're doing!

Something Shiny

We all love shiny things I think, so this week's challenge at Less is More is a JOY!  Here is my card, which will add to my Christmas stash. Hard to see the shine, but the next view might be better. I die cut the Joy to the World Wreath by Cheery Lyn, and inlaid it back into the white card front.  It seems to suit the CAS style better this way.  The shiny sentiment is cut from silver mirror card, mounted to self adhesive foam - as you can see in the shiny photo - no messy glue to spoil the effect! Wonderful News

The challenge at LIM this week is to use washi - how lucky for me that yesterday I tried CASEing a card I saw on Etsy which used a single wooden button on a small notecard.  I didn't use a wooden button, but a die I've had for ages, with WASHI on cardstock - - woo hoo! So I'm ready early today - Sunday morning here in Australia, with temps in the 30s! Cardstock cut 18cm x 9cm for a top fold 9 x 9cm (3.5" x 3.5") Stamp is a freebie from Cardmaking and Papercraft Issue 165 - love the fonts Die is by Simon Says Stamp - Partial Cut Flowers Button die is a set of 3 by Joy! Crafts Washi - unknown origin but printed cloth tape about 1.5 inches wide Below are a couple more cards I made using washi.
