Happy New Year

Welcome to the new year, and here's hoping this one is going to be happy, healthy and safe for everyone!

This afternoon I took a break from packing, found a spot in my craft room amongst the boxes and 'stuff' and although it probably wasn't the right time to craft, I just felt like it!  This is what I created from some watercolored paper I created last year. (I had to say that even though it was about 2 days ago!) Die cutting made them quick to create, so I can get back to packing soon enough!

three cards made from one half sheet of A4

I used Stampin' Up!'s Bloomin Hearts Thinlits Die for this one, Work of Art stamp for the background, and Cottage Greetings for the sentiment.

Memory Box Vignette Floral Branch teams up with paper by Kaisercraft - pad called XO  Another SU stamp for the sentiment

Die-namites Floral Corner is the die used here with a Simon Says Stamp sentiment and frame made with SSS Stitched Rectangle dies.

The watercolour card was created using Ken Olivers Color Burst powder - both Yellow Ochre and Orange were used.  I had originally planned to use the card as a background, but somehow I didn't manage to maintain the various shades as well as I have previously.  I think I added too much water, but by cutting it with dies, the variation seems more noticeable, thankfully.

Making these cards gave me a lovely change and I feel ready to tackle a few more boxes.  Before you start feeling sorry for me (if you were thinking of doing that) I should point out that most of the boxes packed so far contain items from my craft room!  Many, many more to go!!

  1. Beautiful cards Ann, love that bit of humour over last years work. Love these die cuts and the card with the floral background just so eye catching. Couldn't imagine packing my craft room, at lest you managed to still do some crafting. All the best with your move.

  2. Beautiful cards. Happy New Year.
Not envious of your task - can't imagine packing my "toys" away. I have accumulated so many in the last 4 or 5 years. I think I would have to keep stopping to play with "new" things I found again!
