Scrapbook Boutique September blog hop and challenge
Welcome once again to Scrapbook Boutique's monthly challenge and blog hop. You should have arrived here from Angela's amazing blog but if you didn't and want to start at the beginning, just click on the SBB blog link above and start again!
Here is this month's inspirational mood board!
Now to the housekeeping part - if you want to create something or just join in to win, there are two ways you can participate in this challenge and have a chance to win a prize. You can comment on each blog, ending with the SBB blog, or you can create a project (either a card, scrapbook layout or off the page project) inspired by this photo above. Of course you can do both for a chance to win both prizes! Please check out the rules of entry, and the prizes at the Scrapbook Boutique Blog and note that this challenge is open to Australian and New Zealand residents.
I was inspired by so many things that it was initially difficult for me to pin down exactly what it was that I wanted to create. The sentiment, the images of sky, water, fun - all directed me to the idea of making the most of life, but eventually I gave up as the idea was so broad. Instead I focussed on the colour, the love heart and the jewels, so my card is a simple wedding card!
I created the grid design background shown in the dance image by mixing embossing paste with Salty Ocean distress ink, and applying it through a Kaisercraft stencil - this was a 12 x 12" template called quarters, but there are so many stencils around at present, there is no need to feel limited for choice! I allowed the paste to dry naturally - overnight is best. Then I popped up a silver foil frame around the base layer, adding a silver embossed flower from the Altenew set Botanical Garden. This was coloured with Zig markers and fussy cut out. To complete the card I die cut the 'happy' by Simon Says (it is a perfect size in my opinion) from the same silver foil card and added a silver embossed sentiment from Mama Elephant's set Happy Everything. A few 'water' droplets by Nuvo complete the card.
Now you should hop on over to Linda's blog to find out what she has created to inspire you!
Thanks for visiting and happy crafting!
