Scrapbook Boutique November Challenge and Blog Hop

Welcome once again to Scrapbook Boutique's monthly challenge and blog hop.  You should have arrived here from Angela's amazing blog but if you didn't and want to start at the beginning, just click on the SBB blog link above and start again!

Here is this month's charming mood board to inspire you.

Now to the housekeeping part - if you want to create something or just join in to win, there are two ways you can participate in this challenge and have a chance to win a prize.  You can comment on each blog, ending with the SBB blog, or you can create a project (either a card, scrapbook layout or off the page project) inspired by this photo.  Of course you can do both for a chance to win both prizes!  Please check out the rules of entry, and the prizes at the Scrapbook Boutique Blog and note that this challenge is open to Australian  and New Zealand residents.

So you can see I was taken with the country charm feel of this mood board, and of course, the colour red.  To really capture the home-made feel I even added wonky stitching - the real kind as you can see below!  I must add that I do own a Bernina sewing machine, and am quite proficient on it, but this time I used a specially purchased 'craft' machine as I didn't want to ruin my 'proper' machine!  It works, but I can't control it very well lol.

Now you should hop on over to Linda's blog to find out what she has created to inspire you!

Thanks for visiting and happy crafting!

  3. Such a gorgeous feel good card Ann. I use my good sewing machine more on paper these days than fabric. I do use a leather needle as they are apparently harder wearing and I've never had a problem. I do use my 1/4" foot tom ensure a straight edge! xx

    1. Thank you Angie - that is good advice! I'll try the leather needle and 1/4" foot. I wasn't worried when I first used sewing, and used my good machine, but because I'd used double sided tape or something else to adhere my layers, my needles kept sticking, so I bought an 'el cheapo" machine dedicated to cards. I'm thinking that nowadays I probably don't need to 'stick' my layers so much, so proper sewing on my cards may be back for me!

  5. So pretty. Love the gingham and the wonky stitching! I haven't done alot of sewing on cards with my machine. Must do it - as there is always a machine out! Love Angie's tip to use 1/4" foot.
