Now to the housekeeping part - if you want to create something or just join in to win, there are two ways you can participate in this challenge and have a chance to win a prize.  You can comment on each blog, ending with the SBB blog, or you can create a project (either a card, scrapbook layout or off the page project) inspired by this photo above.  Of course you can do both for a chance to win both prizes!  Please check out the rules of entry, and the prizes at the Scrapbook Boutique Blog and note that this challenge is open to Australian  and New Zealand residents.

Are you seeing spots?  There are certainly many of them, so I hope you have loads of fun with this one!  The coloured spots made me think of Bokeh - the photographic effect of merging lights, but not owning a stamp of a leopard, I settled (at first) for cute kittens.  Here is my card:

I started the background by blending 3 watercolours on a very wet piece of watercolour card - the colours were lemon, orange and pink.  I made sure that all the surface was covered in pigment and allowed it to thoroughly dry.  I taped the card to my craft mat, which did prevent a lot of warping.

I hope you can see how wet the card is - this allows the pigment to flow easily

This is now covered with all 3 colours - still very wet.
When dry, I made a stencil by cutting 4 sizes of circles into acetate, then sponged inside the circles with white ink randomly over the panel.  This was allowed to dry, but as the white seemed to soften a little too much, I re-did some of the circles with white again.

I stamped, coloured and fussy cut out my two kittens, and adhered them to a black strip of card white heat embossed with my sentiment from the same stamp set.

A few days later, I thought of adding a dalmatian (for more spots) but didn't own a stamp of that either.  However, I did find one of the dogs from Tim Holtz's set Mini Cats and Dogs, which looked a lot like a dalmatian (it was closer to a hound really) but by wiping the ink from most of the head, I was able to 'draw' in the features to suit a dalmatian - I hope you don't find it too odd!  It was a bit of fun to try anyway.

Now you should hop on over to Linda's blog to find out what she has created to inspire you!

Thanks for visiting and happy crafting!
