Colour Challenge at Less is More

A quick post today as I have two cards to enter into the Less is More challenge this week.  This photo was the inspiration to use the colours which I have named:  ivory, biscuit, caramel, pink and pale pink.

The unusual thing about my card is that I woke up this morning visualising what I was going to do - and I can honestly say that rarely, if ever, happens!  The image I had in mind was of bubbles bubbling over, but I had no idea how to create the bubbles.  Then I found a flourish stamp by Candi Stamps, promoted by a recent magazine - I was in business!  I stamped the 'bubbles' with Brilliance Copper to emulate the caramel colour about 4 times along the bottom, the last time masking below so that I could have one bubble above the rest, and clear embossed them.   Same thing with the sentiment.  I then coloured the circles with Spun Sugar Distress marker, and diluted some of them with an aqua pen to arrive at the two shades of pink.  The card base is the biscuit colour and the stamped layer is the ivory.  I had to add a few drops of ivory liquid pearls, as I still had the idea of bubbling water in mind.  I hope you like the result - and thank you for visiting.

  1. Super card. I think this groovy design has a retro feel to it.

  2. It's great when ideas actually materialise... you're right it rarely happens, and this looks super!
    Thanks so much
