May Blog Hop and Challenge at Scrapbook Boutique

Hey there!  Welcome to another blog hop and challenge at Scrapbook Boutique!

Here is this month's inspiration picture

 Just look at all that yumminess!

I just couldn't go past the beautiful gold butterfly, the delicate pink zig-zags of the cake wrapper, and the soft romantic feel of this photo, so decided to create a wedding card with the Water Blooms stamp set by Mama Elephant.


I used texture paste tinted with pale pink distress ink, in a chevron stencil by Heidi Swapp for my background, and mounted my flower cluster on a vellum tag which I had dry embossed with Swiss Dots.  My collage was adhered to a stitched rectangle, and completed with the gold heat embossed sentiment (included in the stamp set), a die cut butterfly, a tiny punched butterfly and a scattering of tiny white stars.

    Beautiful card Anne, love the soft colours and the gold butterfly. Think I will have to give this challenge a go just dont know if I can keep my colours soft enough. Tend to be a bit heavy handed with my colours.

Scrapbook Boutique October blog hop and challenge

Wow!  Where has the year gone already?  We will soon be caught up with the 'busyness' of Christmas, summer and holidays no doubt, so I'm happy to welcome you to this month's Blog Hop and Challenge at Scrapbook Boutique - let's have fun while we can! You should have arrived here from  Angela's  amazing blog but if you didn't and want to start at the beginning, just click on the SBB blog link above and start again!   Here is this month's gorgeous mood board, to inspire you!  It may be the butterflies, the colours, the designs - whatever takes your fancy!  I love using butterflies in my cards, so I was very happy with this challenge!  I was inspired by the idea of drifts of butterflies and those lovely pink colours! Scrapbook Boutique May Blog Hop and Challenge

Welcome to another blog hop and challenge at Scrapbook Boutique - this month it is based on this amazing mood board! You should have arrived here from  Angela's  lovely blog. What a beautiful collection of images, celebrating motherhood, new babies and all things girly! I just love to make 'new baby' cards, and was inspired by the little ballet shoes and dress to embellish my card with the tulle ribbon.  I also loved the metallic letters, but thought silver was a softer option than gold with pink, so kept to the silver dots on my pattern paper, as well as the silver twine.  I created my own background with a little strip of hearts from a Lawn Fawn set called Into the Woods.  Now for a close-up, to catch that sparkle!
