Sweet n' Sassy Challenges

With only a couple of hours before the challenge over at Sweet n' Sassy Sweet Shop closes, I have completed my card, which I will also be entering in their digi stamp challenge #88.  I purchased my digi stamp from digistamps4joy and I think the image is beautiful.  I will post a Mothers Day card I created with it later, but for now, back to the challenges!   I used the SSS193 sketch (see their link HERE), which closes in about 2 hours, and the SNSDC88 which is 'Anything Goes' - find them HERE .  I should also mention that the quote in the sentiment came from a stamp set by Annabelle Stamps, called 'A Beautiful Day'.  Sweet n' Sassy kindly allow participants to use any digi stamps for this challenge, though I'm about to purchase their cute critters, so maybe I can enter more than once this week.  Here is my card - the dp I used came from a small pad by Bella! called Heritage.

    Awww, that's a sweet image. I like that the mom and the daughter have the same hairstyle. :) You did a nice job coloring it!

Something Shiny

We all love shiny things I think, so this week's challenge at Less is More is a JOY!  Here is my card, which will add to my Christmas stash. Hard to see the shine, but the next view might be better. I die cut the Joy to the World Wreath by Cheery Lyn, and inlaid it back into the white card front.  It seems to suit the CAS style better this way.  The shiny sentiment is cut from silver mirror card, mounted to self adhesive foam - as you can see in the shiny photo - no messy glue to spoil the effect! While visiting the LIM blog, I realised that my card would also qualify for the current  Muse challenge.   This is the first time I have entered, so here are their rules: Use  the inspiration card as a starting point - strictly speaking, I found my card fits the criteria after I had made it, but the links are - metallic sentiment, scattered berries, and a stitched border to frame the panel. Words, words and more words ...

I don't know what it is about the latest challenge # 191 at Less is More  this week, but each morning I have woken with a new idea in my head.  I will, however, only be entering this first card, but I had fun trying to make my ideas work.  I failed miserably with my final idea this morning, which was to use my Portrait (very new and I have no idea of graphics!!) to create a design which resembled the iPhone app called Word Storm.  I did manage to create an octagon, then a border around it, and then the 8 sections, but when I added the small octagon in the centre, I realised I still did not know how to remove the crossed lines in the centre shape.  Oh dear, back to the drawing board, or to the internet to search for lessons, but I had fun trying to solve my problems.  If anyone reading this could point me in the right direction for good lessons, I would be most grateful.
